This past April Covenant Living at the Shores celebrated National Volunteer Month! We are thankful for our residents who give back to the community in a variety of ways. On the average they log in over 16,000 hours a year to local organizations. Some volunteer in hospitals, food banks, thrift shops, libraries, museums and churches, while others focus on healthcare organizations, such as the Alzheimer’s Association, American Cancer Society and local senior groups. Residents also knit, crochet and quilt baby blankets for needy infants at shelters and prepare boxed lunches for the homeless. One couple has been picking up trash on a local walking path for more than a decade. The Diversity Awareness Partners, a resident-led group that creates opportunities to increase diversity on campus volunteers with World Relief, as cultural companions to help newly arrived refugees acclimate to American culture. We are proud of our Covenant Living at the Shores residents and their community involvement!Photos from Covenant Living at the Shores's post ... See moreSee less
