Marykay Duran
Associate Executive Director

Marykay felt a calling for seniors in 3rd grade, as she would go with her Dad to visit his clients in nursing homes. Their wisdom and rich history shared during her visits stayed with her as she began college at the University of Washington.  Shortly after graduating, she found her passion serving seniors at a Christian retirement community in Tacoma, WA.  She began as a Marketing Director, then spent the next 30 years as an Executive Director in various communities in the South Sound.

Marykay came to Covenant Living at the Shores in August 2019, to embark on a new journey as Associate Executive Director.  “I love every visit with our residents.  They are all very unique, with rich history.  It is truly an honor to serve them each and every day.”

René Dumas
Health Care Administrator

René has served as the Health Care Administrator at Covenant Living at the Shores since April 2018.  A graduate of Oregon State University with a BS in Health Care Administration, René has been licensed as a Nursing Home Administrator since 1984, holding active licenses in both Oregon and Washington (2013).  With over 17 years in the industry, he has held leadership positions - including Administrator, Regional Director, and Executive Director -  in both continuing care retirement communities and skilled nursing facilities. His desire to provide care and services for seniors started in college when he worked in environmental service at a nursing home and later obtained a Certified Nurse’s Aide certification.  A resident of Camano Island, René resides with his wife of 36 years and enjoys water sports, cycling and his family.
