Dan Scansen
Executive Director

Dan joins the Covenant Living family after having served as an Executive Director for 9 years, managing independent, assisted, and memory care communities.  Dan is a Seattle native, growing up nearby in Bothell and attending Northwest University, where he met his wife, Jessica.  Dan entered the senior living industry in 2007, working in community admissions and outreach roles for 5 years, prior to his tenures as Executive Director at three different communities. 

Dan and Jessica have 3 young boys—Bennett (10), Dempsey (8), and Rory (7).  They attend New Life Church in Renton. When he is not working and spending time with family, Dan is an avid golfer, lake enthusiast, and Seattle sports fanatic.

Tracy Skaer Henry
Associate Executive Director

Tracy joined Covenant Living in July 2021 as Interim Healthcare Administrator but did not take long for her to see what a wonderful community we have and wanted to become a permanent part of our team. Originally from St. Louis but spent most of her life in Illinois where she graduated from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville. Since beginning her senior living career in 1997 as a Social Service Director, Tracy received her Illinois Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) license in 2000, and her Washington NHA license in 2020. Since that time, she has worked in both skilled nursing and assisted living communities on permanent and interim assignments.

Tracy has two grown sons, Anthony (35) and Blair (29) and 2 grandchildren, Daniel (14) and Yussra (6).  She enjoys spending time with her family however she can and spending time outdoors, walking, horseback riding, spending time at beaches, and reading

Rachel Gerdis
Health Care Administrator

Rachael joined Covenant Living at the Shores in February 2022. Her interest in healthcare and the nursing home industry began when she was completing volunteer hours for her degree in Recreational Therapy years ago. After completing her degree, she worked as an Activities Director in a community where she not only found it fun, but also very rewarding. She then found herself working in social services within this industry and decided to obtain a Nursing Home Administrator license.  She feels lucky to be able to serve our senior population since 2005.  

Debbie Gillaspie
Director of Assisted Living

Debbie joined Covenant Living at the Shores team in May 2017 as the Director of Assisted Living, she has a degree in Healthcare Administration and an Assisted Living Facility Administrator Certification. Debbie has over twenty-two years of experience working with Seniors in Home Care, Adult Day Health, and Assisted Living setting. She oversees all the nursing staff, Healthcare activities staff, and the Wellness Nurse in Residential Living. Her passion for serving the senior population is evident in the relationships she builds with all residents, staff, and families. She is an advocate for doing the right thing for the right reasons, and is very grounded by the spiritual powers that the Shores campus enjoys and passes that on to her caring clinical staff.

Nancy Woo
Sales Director

Nancy has the mind, soul, and lifelong friendships of seniors, having worked alongside them and being mentored by this special “silver” circle for a great part of her life.  Her maternal grandmother who lived to be 100 years old inspired Nancy with her inner strength, wisdom, life experiences, and storytelling.  She lived out her last 10 years in an adult family home with wonderful care and compassion which led to Nancy’s career path in senior living as Sales Director here at Covenant Living at the Shores. Nancy joined Covenant Living at the Shores in 2006 after 25 years in marketing, public relations, and special events management in the public and private sectors.  Nancy prides herself on keeping the census of residential living consistently high and maintaining a long waitlist of future residents. She is passionate about walking the journey with older adults in transitioning from their homes to a senior living community which is a major life change in enhancing the health, safety, and well-being; and beginning a new and fulfilling chapter in their lives.

Roxanne Helleren
Resident Life Director

Roxanne has been bringing joy and fun to the residents at Covenant Living at the Shores since 2013.  She is a Registered Music Therapist and has worked in senior communities for over 30 years.  As the Resident Life team leader, she and her staff provide a variety of both on and off-campus programs, from creative arts and educational programs to current events, fitness, gardening, and photography.  She helps and guides residents pursue their lifetime hobbies and passions in over fifty resident-directed programs and clubs. Roxanne feels blessed to work with our residents to have the opportunity to create meaningful programming together that brings fun, joy, and purpose to our campus family. 

Laura Colello
Human Resource Director

Laura first joined the Shores campus as the Interim Director of Human Resources.  During that time she fell in love with our spectacular campus and the caring employees she was surrounded by. Having spent nearly 30 years in various Human Resources roles for a well-known airplane manufacturing company, she has never been so impressed by the engaged, family-like, team atmosphere. Laura feels so blessed to have the opportunity to return to the Shores in a permanent capacity and be able to provide help and guidance to our employees that give so much to care for the campus residents.

Chris Swedish
Facilities Management Director

Christopher Swedish joined Covenant Living at the Shores in August 2020. He came to us from a CCRC in Washington D.C and brings over 30 years of experience in construction, building engineering, and facilities management.

Chris has held various related roles, including museum design engineer, residential construction contractor, and facilities management at several assisted living retirement community properties.

Mike Sanchez
Director of Dining

Mike joined Covenant Living at the Shores in May 2022. As a long-term professional in the food and dining industry,  he is a trained chef and has worked in many facets of food management during his career. Originally from Southern California, Mike moved to Washington State in 1982, where he feels he is truly blessed to live. He looks forward to working with dedicated professionals and building upon the successes of an engaged and enthusiastic food service team. Bon Appétit!

Kent Eckfeldt
Executive Chef

Kent is a native to the Pacific Northwest, growing up in Kent, WA and joined Covenant Living at the Shores in 2022. His experience has brought him from a small restaurant in his hometown to several larger restaurants in the greater Seattle, including the Dragonfish in the Paramount Hotel, which was rated a top 10 restaurant in the Seattle area during his tenure. He also worked at one of the busiest Buca di Beppo locations in the country in Honolulu, HI.

Kent is thrilled to be closer to family and to the fresh local fare available and looks forward to being part of our community to create lasting memories for our residents through food.

Keep in mind, you do not have to be a current resident of our retirement community to benefit from our assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing or short-term rehabilitation services, nor will you have to pay an entrance fee to enter one of the areas noted above. In our short-term rehabilitation program, we accept Medicare and are in-network providers for a number of managed care and Medicare Advantage programs.
